{key} ka' bug

I picked up the Febuary Creating Keepsakes magazine after lots of people saying it was great and just like any one else i was curious so i drove to borders to get one to see for myself. Well lets say i was waaay more than pleased! So many ideas in there. You know what else acording to CK magazine hearts are in  *gasp*

Not sure if thats how it's determine or not not by it i mean whats hot and whats not.......I know i've heard that line some where LOL

Any ways so i decided to give it a shot and try some of the ideas in there.  So i'm going to show what i came up with because i'm hella sleepy and it's 1:25 a.m and we are driving to Sacramento in the morning so anyways here it is.
  I used buttons that i got some where a long time ago LOL papers from my scrap goods kit, hand doodling of course did my own lettering for title, hidden journaling. I love pics of my guys and i used flowers and things that would be considered feminine on here but it's still ver masculine. I'm happy with it or at least thats what i'm telling myself hehe. TFL

I need the extra push

Some times you need an extra push to get started scrapbooking. I mean you have all of these products but you don't have the right paper or you don't have any pictures........

even though you have a box overflowing with them.

So i've decided to find me a community online that will help me to push myself to scrapbook. I love it in all it's just hard for me some times to cut that paper or use the stickers they are so pretty and i just don't want to mess them up. Yep i know it's pycho thinking but thats me i'm full of all kinds of crazy!

So anyways on www.twopeasinabucket.com the are saying to use a product that you have never used before so i'm going to use chipboard that i got in my scrap goods kit (which i love). Well anyways lets see what i come up with and if anyone esle is reading do the same.

Time passes

It seems as if the years have just magicaly flown by because some where in between December 19th 2003 and today December 19 2006 my baby boy has turned 3! Some body please slow the clock down! He's my last baby and he's 3, yes i still call him a baby in some sad attempt to keep him small but it's not working!
He can speak in very clear full sentences, he's potty trained and he tells me i'm not the baby! It seems like you can't wait untill they are older untill they are older and you want them to shrink back down so that you can hold there tiny bodies close to you.  I try that now and it's all of 3 seconds and then it's
"okay mommy love you too put me down"
and he speeds off with batman to fight crime some where. How did that plastic figurine become so huge......he dosen't even have real super powers....puh i can kiss boos boos away can he do that huh can he?! Okay yeah i know it's just a toy but he acts like that thing is magic anyways i guess it's just part of growing up. So for now i'm just mommy and i'll enjoy my baby at this age for now untill he becomes a grown man and has his own family. Hopefull time will slow down so that i can enjoy the tender age of 3.

Has time passed you by? What do you wish you could slow down? Create a layout and some how that's sort of like slowing it down.....Right?

So i haven't been able to get the pics developed from little D yet but i have some of Chervonne that made me think of this post.

This is from Christmas of 2004 Chervonne's first Christmas when she really cared.......she was past the stage of being interested in the wraping paper. It's amazin how fast they grow and just how things are different. If i could only have time stop.

Scrappin with your kids

Oh the wonderfull imagination children posess. There naïve creativity can only be envied! They have no care as to how this or that balances out all they want to do is make it pretty……and by pretty I mean what the think is pretty. They could care less whether or not it’s attractive to you.

I took some time out to let my daughter scrapbook with me. They have been asking for a while now so I said why not and plus it would keep them out of my hair why I stressed over what I was going to put on my pages fumbling with this and that idea.

This is there product list

1. Sheet of stickers that I’m not using or ever wil

2. There choice of color 8 ½ x11 cardstock

3. Crayons

4. A pair of scissors

5. Glue

6. 1 picture

I just told them to do whatever they felt like and let them know that scrapbooking is all about figuring it out and messing it up. They both had confidence that nothing they did would be wrong. I mean it was amazing to see them go! They cut this and that colored some and glued their pictures down and what they came up with was truly art. So they are going to start scraping with me from now on! Now I’ve got 2 little scrappin buddies. Go ahead and give it a try we all have that old stash of stuff that we will never use. Let your little ones imitate you it’s a blast for them and helps them to express their creativity and who knows they may even inspire you!

trying times

I want to touch on the subject of being a mom. It's a hard job and it's very trying at times. It dosen't matter what type of mom you are whether you are a single mom, married mom, young mom or old mom (sorry if i missed anyone here). We as parents  have our challenges and our work cut out for us. Think about it for a second, we are responsible for raising up tomorrow leaders. Thats huge! It is solely on the parents shoulders to raise up loving responsible adults. So what i'm trying to say is that love them cherish them. I know that they can really push all the right buttons that makes you want to just ....well you know where i'm going with that LOL.
Keep in mind that not every child is the same either so when your super mom neighbor tells her exagerated stories of her super human baby don't get discouraged because your child is special and unique. And no matter what they are they are all yours and you will be the one that loves them.

So this is what i want to challenge you all to do put together a layout that exhibits your childs challenges or just the plain old ordinary that makes them extraordinary in the most important  persons eyes yours!

The magical wonder of a blender pen

Oh my goodness! I’ve found my new favorite tool for scrapbooking or just messing around when I’m really board and have nothing else to do.

Okay so this isn’t really a brand new tool of mine it’s actually an old tool that has never been used that was collecting dust in a jar full of pens with a variety of different type of pencils that don’t know how to use as well.

I think I buy stuff some times just to be like oooo I have one of those too, a sort of trophy if you will.

That’s showing the behavior of a 2 year old right …..so I have one of those too nah!

So you’re probably wondering how I found this miraculous object. Well this is how it all went down. I was invited to stampin up party where the demonstrator proceded to show me all of the awesome stuff that you could do with stamping. Yes people I have been bitten by the stamp bug and will be joining the nearest stamping anonymous meeting………..hi my name is Theresa I can’t stop thinking about stamps, I sit all day long pining over the stampin up cataloge, and I can’t find my kids under all of the obscene clutter that has taken over my house. So anyways more about what I learned at my local stamp pushers laboratory .

Well as she went over stamping technique after stamping technique she pulled out the all magic blender pen……she dipped the tip of her pen in her ink pad and began coloring in the stamp image. That’s when the light bulb went off or rather the 2 year old deep inside of me …..I have one of those too ooo ooo me too! I was totally stunned by the beautiful water color effect that it created .

As soon as I arrived home I took out my small collection of stamps and ink, dusted my stamps off , as I didn’t know how to use them either……..and I began to create and color.

My husband was even impressed with what I had created. He looked at me with a look of disbelief and said “so YOU just painted that like right now?”. I was tempted to mess with him and be like yeah you know I paint where have you been?

Instead I explained it all to him just like I did to all of you. Of course he didn’t find it as interesting he just went on playing his video game.

Here is what i came up with (i used the pen on the little pink envelopes to write the words and to draw the vines. i diped the pin on an ink pad.)

Stormy skys

Stormy skies and rainy days how do they make you feel?
I used to think ick because i mean the skies are all grey and every thing is usually wet and cold.
It was my aunt Yolanda who changed my mind when i was about 12 we were riding down the street and on this day in my home town of Wichita it was not yet raining but it was definitely heading that way, but any way she looked up and  said wow isn't that pretty? I was totally confused by this question as i had no idea what she was talkin about.
I was looking for a pretty bird or butterfly, something colorful to make her have this response on this.....
what i would call a dreary day. So i responded to her question with  i can't see it ? She replied the sky! and when she said it it was in a tone of almost like i was missing out on something glorious. She started to explain this beauty to me so that i could understand it.
Look at the colors !look at them !and I did and wow she was right it was beautiful it kinda reminds me of an experiment with water colors. Well anyways i learned two things that day :

1 my aunt Yolanda loves stormy skies 

2. That Stormy skies are beautifull
